The Center for Health Studies will help Prince George’s Community College provide our students with state-of-the art educational experiences. PGCC looks forward to helping the county and state meet the workforce demands as we expand capacity in existing programs and add several new health science programs. The state of Maryland and Prince George’s County will provide over $43 million to fund construction of this center. Highlights The Center will be 112,071 gross square feet and will have a net usable space of 63,876 square feet including: Eleven (11) smart classrooms One (1) health sciences computer lab Twenty-six (26) state-of-the-art simulation labs Ability to capture student performance via video for future evaluation and assessment by both students and faculty Fifty-two (52) faculty offices Nineteen (19) staff and administrative offices Collegian Center University and K-12 Partners Advisement This academic building will house the following Health Science/Technology programs: Health Information Management & Medical Coder Biller Nursing (RN, RN to LPN, EMT/P to RN, and LPN), Certified Nursing Assistant, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Emergency Medical Technician /Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Optometric Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician. In addition, this facility will provide class and laboratory space for three new Health Science programs: Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Physician’s Assistant, and Surgical Technology. This building will house the following Technology Services Center functions: Data Center, Telecommunications Center, Network Operations Center, Help Desk, Call Center, and the Audio and Video Services which will support the entire campus and provide back-up communications systems for the Largo Campus.
