    Message from the President
Welcome to Prince George’s Community College! Whether you’ve already applied or are just beginning to consider it, you’ve taken an important step toward making a change and reaching your goals.

At Prince George’s Community College, we strive to offer the best possible educational experience for our students. We offer a wealth of programs, provide practical hands-on learning experiences, have knowledgeable and dedicated faculty and staff—all of whom are committed to ensuring our students’ success.

We know getting a degree is much more than reading books and writing essays—it’s a process of higher learning, both in and out of the classroom. We invite you to become part of the process and to immerse yourself in the college. Through the opportunity to learn and grow, you can discover yourself at Prince George’s Community College. Please take the time to educate yourself about all the options and opportunities available to you at Prince George’s Community College. Each year, more than 40,000 students take part in more than 200 academic programs and workforce development and continuing education courses to earn an associate degree, prepare for new careers, upgrade employment skills, or transfer to four-year institutions.

Prince George’s Community College is dedicated to education and committed to student success and completion. The college is dedicated to increasing graduation rates through a formal pledge of completion that reflects national and statewide efforts to boost the number of graduates. To that end, the college has embarked on a completion agenda, called Envision Success, which is geared toward ensuring students are successful and that they understand the importance of completing degrees, certificates, and licensures.

A great example of how we prepare students to become leaders is evident in our national achievements. Prince George’s Community College has been named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Two-year Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security for academic years 2010 through 2015. Community College Week also recently named Prince George’s Community College one of the 50 fastest-growing public two-year colleges in the nation.

Prince George’s Community College is a place to grow as a person in many aspects of your life. It’s a place to meet new friends, participate in new activities, gain life experience, and begin work as a professional in your field of study. I hope you choose Prince George’s Community College to begin your college education.
