Behavioral Intervention Team

  • The Prince George’s Community College Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) was established to promote and maintain the safety and well being of the campus community through positive, proactive, and practical risk and threat assessment. The team will provide a systematic response to college situations involving students showing signs of serious distress or engaging in harmful or disruptive behaviors.

To report an issue of concern, please complete the BIT Reporting Form. Your report will enter a secure data base. Information relative to a situation of concern will be reviewed by the BIT and handled confidentially. The work of the BIT is not intended to replace the current college disciplinary process, faculty classroom management, and/or the response of campus police to incidents. For emergencies, contact 911. Contact Campus Police at 301-546-0666.

The Behavior Intervention Team will provide ongoing professional development activities to assist members of the college community with effective management of potentially difficult situations in and out of the classroom and will provide protocols for specific campus incidents with respect to inappropriate behavior. Members of the BIT can access the Maxient incident response system to review incidents and share comments.

Additional support services are available in the Counseling Center, Disabilities Office, and Health Education Center.
