Around Prince George's TV Series Wins National Telly Award

Congratulations, PGCC Video Systems and Multimedia Productions Team: Angela Mathis, Marshall Johnson, Gary Eldridge, Julia McGraw Austin and student volunteers!

Telly Awards has named PGCC-TV as a Bronze winner in the 36th Annual Telly Awards for the College's television program “Around Prince George’s.”  With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.  The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. PGCC's entry was a compilation of the Around Prince George’s episodes produced last season and won for the category of Film/Video TV Programs: Education.  There were several four-year colleges and universities which were also honored, but the only other community colleges which received Telly Awards in this category were Maricopa Community College Television and the Community College of Philadelphia.

36th ANNUAL TELLY AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Entertainment, Edelman, ESPN, FOX, Huffpost Live,  Kaleidoscope Pictures, NBC, Ogilvy & Mather, One Production Place, SapientNitro, Scripps Networks, Showtime Networks, The Asylum, Coca-­‐Cola, Team CoCo Digital, Time Warner, Trailer Park, Tribal, and Warner Brothers.  

A prestigious judging panel of over 650 accomplished industry professionals, each a past Winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other, rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of a Silver Telly, our highest honor. Other outstanding work is awarded a Bronze Telly.
