LARGO, Md. —Celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month and explore careers at Prince George’s Community College during April. All events are free and open to the public.  For more information, call 301-336-6000. 

Academic Advising, April 1–19, Bladen Hall, Room 124. Review academic programs with a college advisor and plan for upcoming semesters. Students studying social science and business can schedule appointments April 1–5, general studies majors April 8–12 and learning foundation students will meet April 15–19.   

Jazz Concert, April 5, 1–2 p.m., Marlboro Gallery. Honor Jazz Appreciation Month and attend a performance by the DC Jazz Composers Collective. 

Scholarship Recruitment Reception, April 10, 6–8 p.m., Largo Student Center, Community Room B. Discover various scholarship opportunities at a reception sponsored by the Office of Recruitment at Prince George's Community College.  

Voice Recital, April 10, 1–2 p.m., Marlboro Hall, Room 1076. Enjoy a recital of contemporary art songs featuring a mezzo soprano singer accompanied by a pianist.  

Career opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), April 18, 3 p.m., Chesapeake Hall, Room 109. Listen to Temesgen Fufa, National Human Genome Research Institute, as she discusses her academic path to professional success and current research trends in the STEM fields.    

Voice and Guitar Concert, April 22, 1–2 p.m., Marlboro Gallery. Experience the beauty of the human voice accompanied by the classical guitar at a concert featuring 19th century art songs.  

Reception for Parents of High School Sophomores and Juniors, April 22, 6–8 p.m., Community Room B. Assist high school students through the enrollment and financial aid process at Prince George's Community College and understand the overall college experience.  

Information and Engineering Technology Department Advising Day, April 23, 2–6 p.m., Center for Advanced Technology lobby. Learn information technology career paths and areas of specialization and speak to members of the department.    

Improvisation Demystified, April 26, 1–2 p.m., Marlboro Hall, Room 1076. Gain insights into modern jazz improvisation through an interactive discussion and musical demonstrations by the PGCC music faculty.
