Community College Students to Assemble and Advocate for College Affordability

Student Advocacy Day is the day hundreds of students, representing the half-million enrolled in Maryland’s 16 community colleges, will assemble in Annapolis and encourage lawmakers to address several years of reduced state funding resulting in significant tuition increases. Several invited representatives from the House and Senate will address student sduring  the rally. If you have questions about the day’s events, please contact the MACC office, or your local community college, for up-to-dateschedules. 

Wednesday, February 10, 2016 

9:0010:30a.m.   - Student Rally 

Starting at10:30a.m. - Individually scheduled meetings with legislators 

In the case of Inclement Weather, the event will follow weather-related closing decisions of Anne Arundel Community College (AACC). If AACC cancels school,the event is cancelled,and will no be rescheduled. If AACC opens 2 hours late, Student  Advocacy Da y activities will start as originally planned, at 9:00a.m. 

Student Advocacy Day will take place in the Miller Senate Office Building, 11 Bladen St., Annapolis, MD 21401  

President’s Conference Room East.
