LARGO, Md.—Discover the world of art through the eyes of students in the Juried Student Art Exhibition, now through May 3, in Marlboro Gallery on the Largo campus of Prince George’s Community College. Sponsored by the Student Art League, the exhibition includes more than 100 designs, drawings, paintings, watercolors, photography, digital art, ceramics and sculptures. Awards in 15 categories will be presented at a reception, April 26, 6–8 p.m. in Marlboro Gallery and many works of art will be for sale. The exhibition and art reception are free and open to the public.

“Our students’ art examines everything from portraits and landscape paintings to sculpture and pottery to digital art and still photography,” said Thomas Berault, director of Marlboro Gallery. “The experience of entering art into a competition affords our students a unique opportunity and exposure to the art world in a forum that many colleges do not offer,” he added.

Winners will receive trophies for first and second place, medallions for third place and certificates for honorable mention. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday. The exhibition closes at noon on the final day. For more information, call 301-546-0965.
