Westphalia Training Center Offers Skilled-Trades Training

Prince George’s Community College welcomes the community to Westphalia Training Center to highlight the various skilled-trades training and certification offered at the facility. Operated by the college’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education area, Westphalia Training Center provides students with a laboratory setting within each classroom; hands-on training in critical construction trade areas including residential, industrial and commercial construction; building maintenance engineer training; carpentry; electricity; residential wiring; heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC/R) certification; locksmithing; plumbing; and welding training. In addition, the center offers arborist and landscaping classes, as well as hair braiding instruction.

Prince George’s Community College at Westphalia Training Center prepares citizens of Prince George’s County to quickly reach their goal of obtaining licensure and certification credentials required for in-demand jobs. The Westphalia Training Center has partnered with area businesses to provide training and continues to look for new opportunities to partner with industry leaders to expand its training services. 

Prince George’s Community College is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Two-year Education designated by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security (2010-2015). Established in 1958, Prince George’s Community College provides transfer and career programs that help students transfer to four-year colleges and universities and prepare them for the workforce. Each year, 40,000 students take part in more than 200 academic programs and workforce development and continuing education courses.
