Largo, Md.–Students, employees and visitors at Prince George’s Community College now have the capability to access an upgraded, digital, content-rich wireless network at the main campus in Largo and at its five extension centers throughout the county. The new system allows wireless internet access throughout the campus for use of iPhones, iPads and other mobile computing devices. Skype and Facetime contact, as well as iTunes University and iBooks downloads are now possible throughout the Largo campus and at the extension centers.

“The college and surrounding community expect more wireless capabilities in and out of the classroom. We need to respond with cutting-edge solutions to deliver digital content across the campus,” said Manuel Arrington, director of network services at Prince George’s Community College. “The technology team at the college has selected a plan to future-proof our institution for years to come.”

Technology infrastructure upgrades, such as enhanced high bandwidth capabilities, provide a secure and robust connection for students, staff and faculty while maintaining an open connection for campus visitors. The college remotely tracks individual equipment to identify network disruptions and improve internet connection and user experience.

The college partnered with Aruba Networks, a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise, to improve the wireless experience for tomorrow’s workforce.
