  • Technology Services and Discounts Using your Account

    • FREE! Email: All Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) students who have registered and paid for a credit course, cross-listed course, or a Workforce Development and Continuing Education course that uses Blackboard, will receive a student email account called “Owl Mail”. Your Owl Mail ( account) entitles you to receive special discounts and free services. Students can access their email from the Office 365 Portal using any web browser. Upon your first login, you will be asked for additional information that will enable you to reset your password using the “Can’t access your account?” link on the login site. If you haven’t done so, just follow these 3 steps to activate your Owl Mail account.
    • FREE! Microsoft Office 365 for Student Use: As a PGCC student with a valid email account, you are eligible to download and install up to five copies of Office Professional for a PC or MAC on your personal devices. This will install the following apps on your computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Skype for Business, and OneDrive for Business. Detailed installation instructions are available below:
    • FREE and UNLIMITED! Technical Research: Thanks to a partnership between Prince George's Community College and Gartner, you can use your student Owl Link account to have unlimited access to Gartner’s Core Research library. This resource is available 24/7 and enables access to this authoritative library which includes white papers, webinars, and more on an array of technology-related topics, including information technology, administration, medical and healthcare programs, library sciences, industry trends, and analysis. Click on the Gartner link on the PGCC Enterprise Technology myPGCC portal site.
    • FREE! Access to PGCC Workstations and Printers: You can use your student Owl Link account to easily access workstations and printers within the Computer Labs at the Largo Campus.  

      Enterprise Technology is broadening our “Green Routine” by expanding our current print management program to now include students.  The introduction of the college’s new and improved print management program will better align our campus with environmental, security, and sustainability goals.  Students will notice a real-time reporting “counter” on their screen while printing.  To help the college reduce costs associated with unnecessary printing, we are challenging students to print fewer than 300 pages this semester.

    • Free Wireless and Mobile Access: Students have free and unlimited wireless and mobile access on the campus. Students and guests can use any valid email address to authenticate to the wireless connections below:

    • Free Access to Mobile Charging Stations: A total of 50 mobile charging stations are accessible to students at the locations listed below:

    • Emergency Notifications: Students are encouraged to sign up for free Owl Alert notifications. That’s PGCC’s notification system that sends text or email messages instantly and simultaneously to all students who sign up for the service. These notifications will apply to:

      • Delays; and
      • Emergency conditions.
    • FREE PGCC Mobile Applications: PGCC offers free Mobile Applications for students. Using the App Store or Google Play Store, students can access PGCC applications such as:

    Accessing Your Student Owl Link and Blackboard Accounts

    • MyPGCC: myPGCC is the web-accessible secure portal that is the main gateway to all college services. The portal is available at or on campus through the PGCC desktop icon.
    • Owl Link: Owl Link is a secure web-accessible environment that provides online registration for students and other key services. Your Owl Link account is used to access your class schedules, grades, transcripts, etc. OWL Link is accessible at by clicking the OWL Link icon.

    • Blackboard: Blackboard is a Web-based program that serves as the college’s online classroom. The eLearning Service’s website provides information about Blackboard related eLearning technologies in the online and on-campus classroom. Additional Blackboard and online support services are available upon request. You will use Blackboard to:
      • Communicate with your instructor;
      • See your course materials;
      • Submit assignments; and
      • Have discussions with your instructor and classmates.

    • Service Desk: The Enterprise Technology Service Desk is available to provide further assistance. We are located in Bladen Hall Room 106, (301) 546-ASK4 (2754) , or Our hours of operation are: (Mon – Thurs 8 AM – 8 PM), (Fri 8 AM – 6 PM), and (Sat 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
    • Email Policies: Students should be aware of the email standards, monitoring, and privacy expectations associated with their student email account. Details can be found in Chapter 6 of the PGCC Policies and Procedures.
