  • NEXT STEP SUCCESS STORY

Latanya Bagley Latanya Bagley is a wife and proud mother of 5.  Born and raised in New York. She moved to this area 10 years ago with more than half of required credits from Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) for an Associate’s degree and on her way to a promising career in   retail management. She was introduced to the Next Step program in 2009 when she decided to do a career shift.  This decision left her jobless and underemployed for a significant length of time.  Through the program she has received several certificates for volunteer activities and skilled programs. Latanya also participated in several leadership conferences within Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) which helped her to build enough confidence to keep pressing toward her goal of being gainfully employed and completing her degree. In 2009 she started as a volunteer as an Editor and Chief of the Literary Magazine called Reflections, which quickly turned into a paying job.  By 2010 she applied and obtained a part time position in the Admissions and Records Office at PGCC where she currently works full time. Latanya Bagley completed her degree in Communications/Writing at PGCC in the Fall of 2010 and continues her Communication program at University of Maryland University College (UMUC)
