Letter of Recognition

Certificate in Hair Braiding Prince George’s Community College will award to each student who successfully completes all of the Professional Braiding Levels 1-4 a Workforce Development and Continuing Education Certificate. When the student completes the final class he/she should call the Program Coordinator to request verification and processing of their certificate. Maryland does not require braiders to be licensed.

Are you unemployed & tired of looking for work? Need a new career? Need to gain a new skill? Do you want to earn between $300 - $1,500 a week? We offer Hair Braiding Techniques for students who are interested in learning how to braid, in addition to Professional Braiding courses for those interested in working in a salon.

We offer the following courses: 

 Hair Braiding Techniques: Personal 

 Professional Braiding: Level I (Braiders) 

 Professional Braiding: Level II (Braiders) 

 Professional Braiding: Level III (Braiders) 

 Professional Braiding: Level IV (Braiders) 

 Students must assemble a braiding kit (see braiding kit list) 

 Please note that the courses do not meet current requirements for a license in Virginia or the District of Columbia. 

THE NEXT CYCLE OF BRAIDING WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FALL OF 2013.  LOOK FOR THE FALL 2013 SCHEDULE ONLINE THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST.
