Letter of Recognition

Prince George’s Community College will award a Letter of Recognition to each student who successfully completes all four levels of Professional Braiding. When the student completes the final class he/she should call the Program Coordinator to request verification and processing of their Letter of Recognition. Maryland does not require Braiders to be licensed.

Are you unemployed & tired of looking for work? Need a new career? Need to gain a new skill? Do you want to earn between $300 - $1,500 a week? We offer Hair Braiding Techniques for students who are interested in learning how to braid, in addition to Professional Braiding courses for those interested in working in a salon.

 We offer the following courses:

Hair Braiding Techniques: Personal

Professional Braiding: Level 1

Professional Braiding: Level 2

Professional Braiding: Level 3

Professional Braiding: Level 4

Students must assemble a braiding kit (see braiding kit list)

Please note that the courses do not meet current requirements for a license in Virginia or the District of Columbia.  

NEW BRAIDING CLASSES TAKE PLACE IN THE FALL AND SPRING.  LOOK FOR THE FALL SCHEDULE ONLINE THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST AND SPRING SCHEDULE THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY.
