NUR-2031 - Psychosocial Integrity

Emphasizes three levels of prevention and early detection of health problems related to psychsocial adaptation throughout the life span, following the guidelines of the NCLEX Test Plan. Theory and practice include mental health concepts; therapeutic communications and environment; crisis intervention; coping mechanisms; behavioral interventions; cultural diversity and spiritual influences on health; sensory/perceptual alterations; chemical and other dependencies; family dynamics; psychopathology; safe, ethical practice; developmental stages and transitions; and pharmacologic therapies. 15 weeks: 1.5 class hours/5 clinical hours (for 9 weeks)/1.5 lab hours.
