GEN-361 - Notarizing on the Job

A Notary Public who notarizes on the job for an employer often times faces a dilemma in serving the requirements of the business and in some cases, serving the requirements concurrently for the public. Through lack of knowledge, employers' requests do not always coincide with notary laws, support the needs of the general public, or even consider the Notary's role as a public official. Topics to be covered include: common misunderstanding regarding potential liability issues, how to solve problems in the workplace, notary-employee case studies, and the importance of errors and omissions insurance.
