HES-422 - Emergency Medical Tech EMT-B

This is the first course of the Emergency Medical Technician program. Topics will include anatomy and physiology of the chest, abdomen and head; patient assessment; basic life support, trauma and medical emergencies; immobilization techniques; and childbirth. Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age or older, have the physical ability to lift and carry, negative TB test, and successfully pass the Reading Comprehension Placement Test. Pick up a Placement Test Referral Form from the Continuing Education Registration Desk in Bladen Hall, Room 126. Textbook required.
