HIS-378 - World History

Course is designed to briefly examine a range of historical and cultural iconic moments through time and place. Discussions will cover: peoples- the Incas, Mongolians, Massai, Tibetans, Mayans and Cubans; waters-the Yangtze, Dneiper and Amazon rivers; individuals-Peter and Catherine the Great, the Terracotta Warriors, Martin Luther; movements and events-the Renaissance, Tiananmen, D-Day, and China's family policies; and the three great monotheistic religions, Shintoism and the Hagia Sophia.
