Bluebird Blues Festival

Bluebird Blues Festival Takes a Hiatus

For more than two decades, Prince George’s Community College has been deeply honored to present the annual Bluebird Blues Festival to the wonderful community that we serve.  Major improvements to the college’s physical infrastructure, however, necessitated the decision to suspend this well-attended event for the next two years as construction/renovation begins on three major capital improvement projects.  The area at the Largo campus that has been the site of the festival for the last five years is immediately adjacent to the project site and is undergoing an incredible transformation.

The construction will directly impact the space where the festival is normally held, and we thought it best to take a hiatus to give the college a chance to grow, update our existing facilities to better serve our diverse student population, now more than 40,000 strong, and the community that surrounds us while keeping participants’ safety paramount in our actions.

We believe that the construction of the three facilities (Queen Anne Fine Arts, Lanham Hall, and the new Culinary Arts Center) will assist the college with securing more opportunities for our students and our community.  We also believe that it will bring visibility to the important work in which Prince George’s Community College is already engaged while attracting additional possibilities for educational investment.

We want to thank you for your continued support.  The Bluebird Blues Festival will be back!
