Bluebird Blues Festival Vendor Application

  • Food/Craft Vendors:

    Take advantage of this great opportunity to sell your special food and/or crafts at Prince George's Community College's 22nd Annual Bluebird Blues Festival on Saturday, September 20, 2014, on the grounds outside of Novak Field House and Queen Anne Auditorium* from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This program is an annual event sponsored by the College which has drawn a crowd of over 8,000 in the previous years.

    Craft and food vendors are a major attraction at the Blues Festival which also features live local and national bands on 2 stages, children's activities, and workshops in a festive outdoor* atmosphere. So come sell your food and wares while listening to some of the best blues music around. 

     

    Vendors:

    The cost for craft vendors is $150 prior to Friday, August 15, 2014, and increases to $200 after that date. The cost for food vendors is $350 prior to Friday, August 15, 2014, and increases to $400 after that date. Outdoor vending space consist of 12' x 12' that can accommodate a maximum tent size 10' x 10'. Tent must be weighted for wind resistance. Please note that due to limited space, allotted vending space will be reduced if the festival is moved indoors. In addition to a permit from the Health Department, all food vendors are required to provide a copy of a certificate of insurance in the company's name up to a $1,000,000.00 per occurrence under general liability. The college must be named as an additional insured: Prince George's Community College, 301 Largo Road, Largo, MD 20774. A copy of this certificate of insurance must accompany your application.

    All reservation request made after space is filled will be returned, regardless of the date, so reserve your space early!     *The Festival will take place rain or shine and will be located between Novak Field House and Queen Anne Auditorium. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be relocated indoors, with the exception of the food vendors. See Vending Policies and Procedures for details.*

    Craft Vendors

    1. Craft vending space will consist of a 12-foot-by 12-foot area with one 6-foot table and one chair. This space can accommodate a tent size 10’ x10’ max and tent must be weighted for wind resistance. Tent, table covering and skirting will not be provided. Electricity will be provided only if you indicate on the application that you will need it.

    1. The fee for craft vendors is $150 before Thursday, August 16, 2012, by 5:00 p.m. After that time, the fee will be $200.
    2. Vendor space will be reserved upon receipt of the completed vendor application and fee. Note that if payment is received after Thursday, August 16, 2012, by 5:00 p.m. the payment must be for $200. Payment must be made payable to Prince George’s Community College by cashier’s check or money order.
    3. A list of all crafts or photographs of items to be sold must accompany your application. All vending applications are subject to approval by the College.
    4. We do not accept commercial vendors or request for community agencies informational tables. Only sponsoring organizations of the Festival are permitted to have informational tables at the Festival.
    5. Craft vendors may not sell any food or beverages nor any products with the Festival or College’s name, date and/or reasonably similar image of the logo.
    6. Vendors may select a vending spot no earlier than 8:30 a.m. on a first come, first serve basis. If vendors arrive earlier than 8:30 a.m., they will line up in the parking lot and be allowed to select a location in order of arrival. Once a location is selected, vendors may wait to drive onto the grounds (only five cars are allowed at a time), or park and carry their crafts to their location.
    7. All vendors must check in with the Vending Coordinator upon arrival at the Festival.
    8. Vendors must have their vehicles completely unloaded and removed from the Festival site by 12:00 noon. Vendors who arrive after 11:30a.m. will need to park in the parking lot and carry their vending items to their vending location.
    9. The Festival will take place rain or shine. Vendor spaces will remain outdoors, so be prepared if inclement weather is predicted. No shelter will be provided for vendors. No refunds will be given due to the weather.

    Food Vendors

    1. Food vending space will consist of a 12-foot area with one 6-foot table. Water is available nearby. Table covering and skirting will not be provided. Generators will not be provided for food vendors. Please provide your own source of electricity.
    2. The fee for food vendors is $350 before Friday, August 15, by 4:00 p.m. After that time, the fee will be $400.
    3. Any payments received after space is filled will be returned regardless of the date.
    4. Vendor space will be reserved upon receipt of the completed vendor application and fee. Note that if payment is received after Friday, August 15, 2014, by 4:00 p.m. The payment must be for $400. Payment must be made payable to Prince George's Community College by cashier's check or money order.
    5. A list of all food of photographs of items to be sold must accompany your application (some of ours sponsors may have exclusive rights to sell certain food or beverage products).
    6. Food vendors may not sell canned or bottle beverages, including water.
    7. The check-in time for food vendors is between 8:30 and 11 a.m. If vendors arrive earlier than 8:30 a.m., they will line up in the parking lot and be admitted onto the Festival's grounds in order of arrival.  
    8. Each vendor must check in with the Vending Coordinator upon arrival at the Festival.
    9. Vendors must have their vehicles completely unloaded and removed from the Festival site by 11:30 a.m. because the road will be blocked off and be used for pedestrians only. Vendors who arrive after 11:30 a.m. will need to park in the parking lot and carry their vending items to their vending space.
    10. The Festival will take place rain or shine. Vendor spaces will remain outdoors. Please be prepared if inclement weather is predicted. No shelter will be provided for vendors. No refunds will be given due to the weather.
    11. All Food vendors will need to purchase a one-day special event health department permit. Please call (301) 883- 7690 for information. Permits need to be posted on the day of the event. The fee for this permit is substantially less if your application is received by the Health Department at least 14 days prior to the event.
    12. Food vendors are required to provide with their application a copy of a Certificate of Insurance in the company's name up to a $1,000,000.00 per occurrence under general liability.
    13. Food vendors are expected to take extra care in the handling and disposing of fluids such as oil so as not to damage the surface of the festival grounds.

    Payment for the vendor fee must accompany the vendor application. Payment must be made by cashier's check or money order payable to Prince George's Community College. No refunds will be given. There will be no on-site registration.

    A confirmation of your application will be sent to you prior of the Festival. Please bring the confirmation with you on the day of the Festival. If you do not receive your confirmation by Friday, September 12, 2014, please call (301) 322-0853 to confirm your reservation. Vendor application acceptance will be at the discretion of the Festival Committee. Please do not assume that you have a space if you do not hear from us. Please note: Playing loud music is not allowed at vendor locations.

    Prince George's Community College reserves the right to remove any vendor without compensation who does not comply with any of these policies and procedures, the policies of the College, or who is disruptive or behaves in a manner unbefitting the Festival.
