Dr. Charlene M. Dukes
President
Prince George’s Community College

Dr. Charlene M. Dukes is the eighth and first female president of Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) in Largo, Maryland.

Prior to coming to PGCC, Dr. Dukes served as dean of students at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), Allegheny Campus. She also served as an adjunct faculty member for CCAC, PGCC, and the Community College Leadership Doctoral Program at Morgan State University.

Dr. Dukes’ involvement in education extends throughout the county and state, as she served on the Prince George’s County Board of Education, and was recently appointed by the Governor to the Maryland State Board of Education. Additionally, she holds membership in a variety of professional organizations. She served as a conference presenter on a variety of topics, such as partnering with Academic Affairs, assessment and student outcomes and critical issues in higher education.

Dr. Dukes holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s and doctorate in Administrative and Policy Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.
