Transportation & Distribution, Personal Vehicles
Driver Education & Licensing
Program Summary
The Driver Education program is provided for beginning drivers who wish to obtain a Maryland Class C Driver’s License. This 36-hour, Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) certified course includes 30 hours in 10 sessions of classroom lecture and 6 hours behind-the-wheel skills training. Schedules for the lecture portion of the class include day, evening, and weekend classes. The 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction is scheduled on a flexible basis with each individual student.
Courses are taught by professional, MVA-certified instructors, who patiently and courteously coach the new driver using late model, specially equipped vehicles which are easy to maneuver in traffic and parking situations. Participants may enroll in the course with or without obtaining an MVA Learners Permit and must be at least 16 years of age or older. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain a parent or guardian consent authorization.
In addition to the PGCC registration and fees, there is an additional, optional charge to use the program vehicle for the MVA road test. This fee is not paid at registration and will be collected when you schedule your MVA road test for driver’s license.
The college refund policy states there are no refunds after the class starts.
