Community Education offers a variety of noncredit cultural, educational, practical, and inspirational programs and classes that offer something for everyone -- most at nominal cost. Year-round, over 500 different courses, workshops, and special programs are offered at more than 50 sites around the county. Of the college’s total enrollment, more than 18,000 enroll in noncredit continuing education courses.
Courses for Everyone
Courses for open enrollment are offered during the days, evenings, and weekends in topics as diverse as:
- Art & Entertainment including fine and creative arts, the performing arts, and creative writing
- Community Fitness and Healthy Living, such a s aquatics which offers lessons for both swimmers and non-swimmers, as well as sports, leisure, and fitness activities
- Community Enrichment & Personal Growth to develop your mind, your skills, and your lifestyle
Looking for Something More Specific
PGCC also offers programs for special populations:
- Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English for Speakers of Other (ESL) – fundamentals for community living
- SAGE, programs for seniors designed specifically for those 60+ and offered at senior centers county-wide
- The College for Living offers courses designed to enhance living skills of adults with developmental disabilities
- The Children’s Developmental Clinic offers activities to help improve the motor, reading and language skills of children with developmental disabilities
- Youth Programs for kids Grades 2-7 during the summer, t o supplement home schooling, as well as TAG students
