Program Summary

Prince George's Community College and the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission are pleased to jointly offer classes at the Robert I. Bickford Natatorium on the college campus. Young and old, swimmers and non-swimmers --there's a class for everyone!

  • Bubblers (6 Months-36 Months Old)
  • Bobbers (3 Years-5 Years)
  • Floaters (3 Years-5 Years)
  • Strokers (3 Years-5 Years)
  • Youth 1 - 5 (6 Years-13 Years)
  • Adult 1 - 4 (14 Years and Over)
  • Water Aerobics
  • Deep Water Aerobics
  • Water Walking

 Certification Training 

SWM334.  Lifeguard Training

Learn the skills required of lifeguards at pools and non-surf, open-water beaches; earn American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. You must be 15 years or older the day the class ends, and on the first night of class you must be able to swim 500 yards continuously using front crawl and breaststroke all with correct stroke technique. Standard First Aid and CPR/FPR certification is incorporated into this new course. Full participation is required. Purchase text and CPR mask may be purchased at the first class with a money order payable to American Red Cross for $38.75. Duration: 2 hrs. 45 min. for 13 sessions.
