Program Summary

PGCC offers classes for both non-fiction and fiction writers with varying objectives, including:

  • Fiction writing classes are designed both for those with aspirations of becoming published authors and for those who want to write for personal reasons, but not necessarily for public consumption.
  • Poetry classes are for those writers who want to improve their poetic expression, while avoiding the clichés often found in poetry. This class is for all writers wanting to hone their skills with word usage.
  • Specialty classes are also offered online in topics such as “The Craft of Feature Writing for Magazines,” “How to Write Your Own Life Story,” “Screen Writing,” “The Keys to Effective Editing”, Introduction to Internet Writing Markets”, and “How to Write Like a Pro.”
  • Creative Journaling
  • Free-Lance Feature Writing taught by a working API professional
  • Expressive Writing and an Expressive Writing Workshop are offered featuring how to overcome writer’s block.
  • Fictional Writing: The Short Story/Novel
