Student Success Skills

Updated: Jan 05

Program Summary

Most students are surprised when they start taking courses at the college level. It’s very different from high school learning. One of the best ways to start is to take a few student success courses. Learning how to listen more effectively, to absorb more of what you read, to develop better study skills, and to best prepare for test taking may be the most important things you learn in college. Strong student success skills can save you time, help you organize your day, and even provide you with skills you'll need in the job market!

Students consistently report three types of problems while studying. They report difficulty applying self-motivation strategies in poor situations. They fail to manage time effectively. And, they don't know how to learn all of the content in information dense courses. On the surface, these three difficulties appear to be miles apart. We'll let you in on a well-kept secret: How to be the best you can be!
