Making the Most of Having Fun

Take advantage of the many opportunities to get involved in college life.  Education is not limited to the classroom, and your future employers know this. Student activities give students first-hand experience in planning and publicizing an event, managing a budget, recruiting volunteers, and being a leader. Many students find their first job after college through contacts made during their college life activities. As a student, we encourage you to  join a club or organization to take advantage of the opportunity to meet new friends and to make college a more memorable experience.

The co-curricular activities at Prince George's Community College are diverse, including student governance, student publications, Student Program Board activities, and intercollegiate and intramural athletics. Student governance involves students in the administrative, legislative, and judicial processes of the college. Students have the opportunity to report activities of interest and express themselves through The Owl newspaper, Reflections literary magazine, and the Publications Board. The intercollegiate athletic program consists of ten teams in both men’s and women’s sports. The intramural program is an informal, participatory program involving students, faculty, and staff.

Want to start your own special interest club? Prince George’s Community College welcomes student groups and associations that support the co-curricular and social needs of the student body. Some of these organizations are ongoing from year to year, while others form spontaneously during the school year. A guide to establishing student groups and organizations can be obtained from College Life Services.
