LARGO, Md.— May 2008 events at Prince George's Community College combine education with music, travel, culture and arts. Education is presented in many different forms at the college, such as discovering the ecosystem in the Rocky Mountains, traveling to Greece for a day or learning to ride a motorcycle. Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa hosts the annual Greek Day, Friday, May 2, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Queen Anne Fine Arts courtyard.
Reflections Literary and Arts magazine, a premier student publication, celebrates its 40th Anniversary special unveiling, Monday, May 5, 12-2 p.m., in the Largo Student Center, Community Room A. The Workforce Development and Continuing Education department is hosting Transportation and Distribution Institute, Career and Licensing Open House, Tuesday, May 6, 1-3 p.m., Laurel College Center. The Transportation and Distribution Institute curriculum consists of Motorcycle Licensing, Commercial Driver Licensing Class A and B, Driver Education, Aviation Piloting, Automotive and Diesel Technology certificate program and Small Gas Engine Service and Repair. Gear up and study Environmental Biology in the Rocky Mountains through this travel study class that can be taken as a credit or noncredit course. Students will travel to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks to view a variety of ecosystems that are home to an abundance of wildlife and plant life.
