LARGO, Md. — Prince George's Community College hosts the Annual Caribbean Festival on Saturday, May 3, 12:30-6 p.m., in front of Novak Field House and the High Technology Center. The event features live performances by renowned bands such as Jah Works, Unity Reggae Band and S.T.O.R.M. Reggae, which offer a blend of roots reggae and Jamaican music. DJ Sprang International is the emcee for the festival.
Additional performances and activities, such as Mr. Reptile Man, Treasures of the Caribbean, stilt walkers, tattoo artists, face painting and a unique selection of foods and crafts, provide a full day of entertainment. "The Annual Caribbean Festival is like no other in that there are fun activities for all ages,” said Paulett McIntosh, program director for college life services. “There will be a second stage area that is geared toward families and their children,” she added.
The Annual Caribbean Festival is one of a series of educational, cultural, arts and dance events that Prince George’s Community College is hosting throughout the year in celebration of its 50th Anniversary culminating with a gala in September 2008.
