LARGO, Md.— Prince George's Community College offers a variety of weekend and evening courses to serve the needs of working adults whose demanding schedules often make it difficult to attend classes during the day. Embark on new careers, enhance employment skills or transfer to a four-year institution.
“Weekend College is an alternative for students who are unable to pursue higher education throughout the week,” said Vera Bagley, director of admissions and records. “Students may take two or three weekend courses per semester, depending on the schedule format selected. Weekend classes are offered Friday evening and all day Saturday on three or four alternating weekends with many of the classes beginning later in the semester,” she added.
Evening courses begin at 6 p.m. or later and allow time for working students to make arrangements to get to class on time. Classes are small, personal and convenient for students to meet their goals of earning an associate’s degree or certificate while working or raising a family.
While most weekend and evening courses meet at the Largo campus, additional courses are offered at other Prince George's Community College locations, including Andrews Air Force Base, Laurel College Center and University Town Center in Hyattsville.
