  • Institutional Successes

    • Named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Security Two-year Education by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for 2010-2015.
    • Opened the first middle college in the state of Maryland, in partnership with the Prince George’s County Public Schools – The Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College.
    • Recognized as a White House as a Champion of Change, Prince George’s is the only community college in the group.
    • Opened the Westphalia Training Center in Upper Marlboro to educate and train workers for in-demand jobs.
    • Celebrated the University Town Center’s (UTC) decade of service to the community.
    • Commemorated Laurel College Center’s 10 year anniversary. LCC is a Regional Higher Education Center and a partnership with Howard Community College.
    • Increased enrollments in workforce development and continuing education more than 25 percent over the last five years.
    • Served approximately 5,000 students each year through the college’s Seasoned Adults Growing through Education or SAGE, which is the WDCE’s largest program and the largest community college-based senior focused program in the state of Maryland.
