BALTIMORE — The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC)
has signed academic, programmatic and credit transfer agreements for ITT Technical Institute students, according to a release issued last week. Students can
view these transfer agreements on the Maryland Higher Education Commission
website at http://mhec.maryland.gov/Pages/itt.aspx.
In addition to finalizing transfer agreements with Maryland
institutions, MHEC also said it would continue to work with the bankruptcy Courts
to obtain student financial and academic records from ITT.
ITT students have a choice to either continue their education by
transferring their ITT credits to a Maryland institution or seek federal loan
forgiveness. Students interested in loan forgiveness are encouraged to
visit the US Department of Education website for more information (https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/repay-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/closed-school).
Students are also encouraged to visit the MHEC website for information
about transfer agreements, federal loan forgiveness, and student records.
