Producing videos encompasses consideration of many aspects of communication. Some are the selection of subject to be presented, the capabilities of available equipment and, in the current market, non-linear video editing (computer software) skills. Making commercial-quality movies and video programs requires even further knowledge of these creative possibilities.

Videography Certificate 

Requirements for the continuing education certificate include successful completion of the following courses: 

 • VID-308 Videography: Part 1 

 • VID-329 Videography: Part 2 

 • Any Final Cut Pro, Motion 5 or Adobe Premiere Pro .

VID-308 Videography: Part 1     2.1 CEUs

This course, the first of a two part series offers hands-on camera, lighting and audio training.  The student will also receive entry-level training in and examination of the many tools available for non-linear video editing using the Apple Final Cut Pro software program. 7 sessions, $285* (includes a $75 lab fee)

In this class, the second of a two part series, the student will produce and edit a three minute video using pre and post production techniques learned in Part 1.  The student will be shown how to digitize footage and make a rough cut of a film.    7 sessions, $285(includes a $75 lab fee)

This course provides hands-on training in basic skills for producing digital stories using photos, video, graphics, music and narration. Participants will explore innovative web tools and multimedia applications to create short three to five-minute digital stories for personal, organizational or educational use.
