IT Fundamentals is designed for individuals pursuing professional development training in information technology and provides instruction on the CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification Exam. Topics include basic computer concepts, types of computers, hardware and software components, networking, network protocols, information security, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting computer systems, and future technologies.

Are you considering a career in information technology (IT)? Or do you have an interest in furthering your knowledge of computing devices? In this class, students will prepare for the CompTIA® IT Fundamentals™ (Exam FC0-U51) certification.
Topics include:

  • Safely setting up a basic workstation, including installing basic hardware and software and establishing basic network connectivity
  • Identifying and correcting compatibility issues
  • Identifying and preventing basic security risks
  • Providing basic support on various types of computing devices
