DPR 800 is an introduction to the Linux operating system and is mapped to the CompTIA+ LX0-101 exam and DPR 801 Linux Opertaing Systems Part II is mapped to the CompTIA Linux+ LX0-102 exam.


Becoming certified in Linux can benefit you in two ways. If your job duties include Linux troubleshooting, installation, or maintenance, or if you are preparing for any type of Linux-related career, it provides the background knowledge and skills you will require to be successful. In addition, it assists by preparing you to take the CompTIA® Linux+ exam which is an essential credential for individuals working in IT, especially those on the path of a Web and software development career.

DPR-800 Linux Operating System I     
This course covers command-line basics, managing software packages, configuring hardware, and file management concepts in a Linux environment. Meets concurrently with INT 2721. Prerequisite: programming experience in logic and design. 2 class/2 lab hours.

DPR-801 Linux Operating System II     
This course covers system administration tasks such as X Windows configuration, basic network configuration, writing scripts to automate tasks, managing e-mail, database management, and security management. Meets concurrently with INT 2761. Prerequisite: Linux Operating System 1.
