High School Diploma Option: GED

Do you want to earn your High School Diploma?

The Adult Education Program offers free GED® preparation and Basic Reading and Math classes. Enrollment is based on the results of placement tests and learners are placed in the appropriate class for their level.

GED classes are for adults who are preparing to take the official GED® Tests and need to review their skills. Classes focus on reading, writing, math problem-solving, and test-taking skills. The program also offers classes in Social Studies, Science, and Computer Skills during the Spring and Summer semesters. Classes are held throughout Prince George's County. Morning, evening, Friday-only, and Saturday-only programs are available. Most classes meet for a total of 60 hours per semester.

For adults who need more practice in reading, writing, and math skills before they attempt the official GED® Tests, Basic Math and Reading classes are also available.

Students at all levels purchase their textbooks. Registration sessions and placement testing are usually held on the college's Largo campus. Please check the current registration schedule for details.
