Understanding Outside Scholarships

What happens now that I received an outside scholarship?

Recipients of outside scholarships typically receive written notification from the donor explaining the terms and conditions of the award. In some cases, the donor will require that the student submit official documentation of enrollment, billing statements, and/or other financial aid awards prior to releasing the funds. The terms and conditions of the award will explain whether the funds will be disbursed directly to the student or to Prince George’s Community College on behalf of the student. Awards disbursed to PGCC should be mailed to the Student Financial Aid Office. All funds receive by the college on behalf of the student will be applied directly to the student’s account.
