Prince George's Community College Announces New Articulation Agreement Signed with NewU University

LARGO, Md. (September 27, 2023) Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announced a new articulation agreement signed with NewU University, the latest partnership in a long history of the College’s articulation agreements with partner institutions to provide students with more transfer credit opportunities.

“We look for every opportunity that will provide our students with a wealth of innovative and substantive options for transfer and advancement towards their educational and career goals,” Dr. Clayton Railey, executive vice president and provost of Teaching, Learning, and Student Success at the College, said.

Stratsi Kulinski, President of NewU University, added: “PGCC students now have an unsurpassed option to earn a bachelor’s degree right in Washington, D.C., close to home. And the best part is, they can do so in as little as two-to-three semesters and without breaking the bank. Average tuition after scholarships at NewU is just $2,500 per semester for a regular course load of 20 credit hours, so this is a game-changer. We applaud the PGCC leadership for being the first community college in the country to realize the transformative potential of these dynamics and to partner with us for the benefit of their graduates. We expect all community colleges in the greater Washington, D.C., area will soon follow PGCC’s trailblazing and student-centric example.”

PGCC graduates from the A.A. and A.A.S. degree programs in business management, marketing management, business administration, economics, human services, or psychology can transfer to NewU University and begin their bachelor’s degree program comparable to the outlined associate degree programs at PGCC. Additionally, PGCC graduates who apply online to NewU University will receive an application fee waiver and scholarship opportunities. Upon acceptance, PGCC graduates can meet one-on-one with NewU University academic and faculty advisors to review their curriculum plans and register for courses.

NewU University also offers majors for the following categories: psychology and human behavior, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation management, sustainability and climate change, and computer and data science.

“This partnership helps the College meet its strategic goal of reimagining workforce innovations and strategic partnerships by developing a seamless transfer pathway specific to the major,” Dr. Antoine Deas, program director of Academic, Transfer, and Career Advising at the College, said.

PGCC is proud to partner with NewU University as the College builds on its strategic goal of optimizing student transfer and graduation pathways. To view the complete list of the College’s transfer articulation agreements, click here.
