Natatorium Main Pool

The main pool at the Natatorium reopened on July 1 after completing repairs.

Our Robert I. Bickford Natatorium is a comprehensive swimming and exercise facility that is open to the public and includes:

  • 50-meter pool
  • Training pool
  • Hydrotherapy pools (Currently closed for repairs)
  • Weight training room
  • 2-on-2 basketball court
  • Three racquetball courses

Weight Room and Court Availability

During regular operating hours, the weight room, basketball, and racquetball courts are available to the College community and the general public.

Limited Lap Lanes

Limited lap lanes are available for the College community and general public during the SAGE program's days and hours.

Locker Policy

Lockers are available, but visitors must bring their own locks. The College is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Hours of Operation*

Due to low staffing, the Natatorium operates in limited areas for limited hours.

  • Monday: 8:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 12:30–8:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday: 8:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. 
  • Thursday: 12:30–8:30 p.m. 
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Saturday: Closed
  • Sunday: Closed

*Summer hours beginning June 2024.

Main Pool Hours (Shallow Area)

Due to college classes, the shallow areas of the main pool will only be available during the following times:

  • Monday: 12–1 p.m. | 3–6 p.m.| 7:45–8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 1–2 p.m. | 3:15–4:15 p.m. | 6:30–8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 12–2:45 p.m. | 4:45–6 p.m.  | 7:45–8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7:45–8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: Not available

Closures and Holidays

The Robert I. Bickford Natatorium follows the College's main Largo campus schedule. When the campus is closed, the Natatorium is also closed.

Upcoming Closure Dates

May 28-June 16: Natatorium repairs and maintenance.

June 19: Juneteenth observed.

July 4: Independence Day observed.

Inclement Weather Policy
The Natatorium may close or open late due to inclement weather and will follow the same opening and closing schedule as the College.

Special Events
The Natatorium's hours are subject to change due to class changes and special events.

Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations have been established to benefit all natatorium users and ensure the facility's overall safe operation. Patrons are requested to cooperate in observing these rules and follow the natatorium staff's directions.

Prince George’s Community College reserves the right to refuse admission to the natatorium when the pool's capacity has been reached or when otherwise deemed necessary for the health, welfare, or safety of the staff and/or patrons.

The Coordinators are responsible for the operation of the natatorium; their instructions must be followed at all times. Should a disagreement arise, patrons are advised to contact the Natatorium Manager.

In consideration of being permitted to use the facilities at the natatorium, patrons assume all risks of injury and illness and release and hold Prince George’s Community College, The Robert I. Bickford Natatorium staff, and all those acting on its behalf harmless from any claims form injuries and illness that may arise from the use of this facility.

Rentals

The Natatorium accepts reservation requests from most groups for lane and space rentals. It does not accept reservations for:

  • Private parties.
  • Personal training.
  • Private swim lessons.
  • Any reservation conflicting with a scheduled activity at the College.

Completing a request form does not guarantee your rental. Natatorium staff will contact you within 48 hours of the request.

  1. Natatorium Rentals and Facility Usage. This page describes what is required of a group for Natatorium rental purposes. For example, an insurance statement must be provided, it discusses which groups take priority, and offers specific deadlines.
  2. Natatorium Facility Rental Fee Form. This document shows the breakdown of the cost of rental equipment, specific areas, lanes, and hourly cost of attending staff.
  3. Natatorium Facility Use Request Form. This form is required. Please send the completed form to RIBNatatorium@pgcc.edu per the rental request. Completing this form does not guarantee your rental until it is approved and signed by Natatorium staff.

Swim Team and Synchronized Swimming Club Information

Prince George's Community College and the Robert I. Bickford Natatorium do not have a swim or synchronized swimming team. However, the College does rent space to the following swim teams and synchronized swimming teams:
