Career Readiness Skills for Students

Students studying mass communication have access to a hands-on television laboratory. They are actively involved in learning all phases of video production, from on-location shoots to live studio tapings and control room operations. Students have even produced their own programs, such as “Campus Beat” and “Health Report Card.”

Support of Teaching and Learning

We support teaching and learning by recording lectures, conference speakers, fine arts performances, and special events on campus. PGCC TV also provides learning opportunities for students by including them as part of its live studio audience during productions like “British Debaters,” “Literally Speaking,” and the “Millennium Management Series.” Students enrolled in the Television Production curriculum are routinely incorporated into the professional crew on many of our productions.

Promotion of the Mission and Vision of the College

Whether it’s producing a community affairs TV show focused on higher education and student success, a training video for faculty and staff, or a short recruitment video promoting academic and professional and personal development programs, PGCC TV is committed to supporting and promoting the mission, vision, and goals of Prince George’s Community College.
