Prince George’s Community College Joins Consortium of Maryland Institutions to Host Nursing and Allied Health Career Fair

Students and alumni to interface directly with more than 30 hiring employers

LARGO, Md. (February 24, 2022) – The Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) Office of Career Development and Internships joins a consortium of Maryland colleges and universities today to host the spring 2022 Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Virtual Career Fair, which will be held from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. EST. This event is the first of its kind, aligning area institutions with a select industry.

Students, alumni, and community residents who seek a job, advancement within their career, or a new career direction are encouraged to attend the free event. More than 30 healthcare employers are confirmed to participate, and each partnering organization will have its own designated breakout room in which to facilitate engagement with job seekers. Registration is required to access the event and will be available on the day of.

“I hope that PGCC students and alumni will take advantage of this free networking opportunity to connect with hiring employers and position themselves to be hired for available career opportunities,” said Alicia Jackson-Warren, program director of the Office of Career Development and Internships at Prince George’s Community College.

Two-year and four-year participating institutions include: Hood College, Notre Dame of Maryland University, Allegany College of Maryland, Harford Community College, Montgomery College, and Wor-Wic Community College. Confirmed employers consist of some of the largest area healthcare organizations, including those listed below.

Prince George’s Community College offers associate degrees in nursing, radiography, respiratory therapy, nuclear medicine technology, medical assisting, and more. License and certification pathways include certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant, CPR, phlebotomy technician, EKG technician, and certified medicine aide. Students gain immersive, hands-on experiences that prepare them to excel in the healthcare industry.
