If your job duties include Linux troubleshooting, installation, or maintenance, or preparing for any Linux-related career, it provides the background knowledge and skills you will need to succeed. It also assists by preparing you to take the CompTIA® Linux+ exam, an essential credential for individuals working in IT and seeking careers in web and software development.

TEC-608 Linux Fundamentals
This course covers command-line basics, managing software packages, configuring hardware, and file management concepts in a Linux environment. Meets concurrently with INT 2721. Prerequisite: Programming experience in logic and design. Two class/two lab hours.

Learning on your own time
Students taking an online class can access course content 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and have discussions with their instructors and fellow learners using Canvas. Deadlines and due dates will be set for assignments, tests, and projects.
Remote
Learning in real time
Students who take a remote class will meet online via Zoom in your Canvas course at scheduled times with set deadlines and due dates. Students will also access learning materials, assignments, and participate in discussions via Canvas.
