College Closings

It is the practice of Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) to hold all regular classes on all days scheduled on the college calendar.

In the event of emergency weather or any other condition that requires the cancellation of classes and activities, a message will be sent via Owl Alert. Local television and radio stations will be asked to announce PGCC closings or delays, and students, faculty, and staff may also call 301-546-7422 for information.

In the event of hazardous weather conditions, any PGCC classes held at local public-school locations will be canceled when the Prince George’s County Board of Education announces that the public schools will be closed.

Prince George’s Community College classes held at locations other than the Largo campus will follow the main campus weather schedule. That includes classes held at Joint Base Andrews, Laurel College Center, University Town Center, Skilled Trades Center, and Westphalia Training Center.

If the Largo campus closes as a result of inclement weather, classes at other PGCC locations will be canceled.

Delayed College Openings

When PGCC announces a delayed opening, all classes with at least 45 minutes of class time remaining at the time of the opening will be held. For example, in the event of a 10 a.m. opening, a 9:30–10:45 a.m. class will be held. This procedure applies to all classes.
