PGCC PARTNERS WITH EVERSPRING TO REBUILD ONLINE COURSES

Largo, Md. (March 2, 2023) — Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announced today that Everspring Inc., a leading provider of education technology and services to universities seeking to build or expand their online capabilities, will partner with the College to rebuild 10 new courses this spring. The 10 selected courses will support fully online degrees at the College.

“Everspring is excited to partner with Prince George’s Community College to develop high-quality courses that produce strong student outcomes,” said Beth Hollenberg, president, and co-founder of Everspring. “Our guidance will ensure that faculty have the best possible assets for their courses as well as new approaches for building meaningful connections with their students online.”

The partnership will also provide faculty with support on best practices and online teaching methods, creative and design services, multimedia, and interactive course elements to allow faculty to deliver dynamic, interactive courses resulting in consistent student experiences and program outcomes.

As a part of the pilot, Everspring helped PGCC design a set of four general education courses — General Biology, Introductory Nutrition, Applied College Algebra, and Introduction to Information Technology — and high-value multimedia assets last fall.

“Everspring's instructional designers, with their course development framework, helped PGCC rebuild four online course masters that met the College's revised online standards in record time,” said Nadine Edwards, director of eLearning Services at Prince George’s Community College. "The rebuilds of these four courses directly impacted 135 sections with professionally developed materials designed to engage students and resulted in a 10% overall improvement in PGCC’s Canvas accessibility score.”

This partnership is funded through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund and supports one of the College’s strategic plan projects.
