Prince George’s Community College Partners with the Education Advisory Board's Moon Shot for Equity

LARGO, Md. (October 10, 2023) Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announced an extensive partnership with the Education Advisory Board’s (EAB) Moon Shot for Equity, a national initiative focused on the elimination of equity gaps in higher education in the United States through research-backed best practices, policies, and technology. This new partnership is part of the College’s effort to put students first, identify equity gaps, and accomplish its achievement goals.

“PGCC’s commitment is to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all individuals have an equitable opportunity for success,” Dr. Falecia D. Williams, Ed.D., President of Prince George’s Community College, said. “By collaborating with EAB’s Moon Shot for Equity, we’re taking strategic steps to redesign our practices to better empower students for completion and graduation, so they are well prepared for advanced study and the workforce.”

Moon Shot for Equity partners with two and four-year institutions to implement research-based best practices and policies to close equity gaps, implement techniques in institutional transformation, and deploy technology to advance equity and reduce bias with a focus on helping underrepresented students of color and other historically underserved populations graduate from college.

Today’s announcement is the latest step in PGCC’s strategic goal of ensuring learning and achievement through high-impact educational practices by adopting processes aligned to widespread student success and equitable outcomes. To learn more about the EAB, visit its website.
