Please consider making a gift to provide our students with access to high impact learning experiences that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
Establish a Scholarship
Establishing a scholarship is a relatively simple process which begins with a one-on-one consultation with a Foundation staff member who provides personal assistance in guiding donors through the development of their scholarship.
Endowed scholarships are permanent named funds. These funds are invested and a portion of the income generated is used to fund annual scholarship awards. Endowments start at $25,000.
Annual (or non-endowed) scholarships are called temporary named funds and can be established with a gift of $500 or more. They remain active as long as donors contribute to them.
We look forward to working with you to define and describe your new scholarship. With your instructions we will compose a “memorandum of understanding” that will provide the Foundation with specific direction in order to administer the scholarship in accordance with your wishes. All gifts toward the creation and maintenance of the scholarship are tax deductible.
To Set Up a New Fund, You'll Need to Decide:
What will be your fund's exact name or title?
Would you like the fund to be named in honor or in memory of someone who is important to you? Do you want to include such words as “memorial” or “endowment?”
What will be your criteria for scholarship recipients?
By law, this has to be a fair and open competitive process, available to all qualified applicants. However, you can list the attributes or qualifications that you would like your recipient to have. For example, you may want them to be a resident of a specific geographic area, student at a particular school, and/or a full-time or part-time student.
You may also want them to have a financial need, a grade point average of 2.5 or above, performed volunteer service, participate in community activities, or have specific career goals, academic interests and/or achievements.
