Accounting for Managers

OFC 341 Accounting for Managers: Part I

An overview for the manager/supervisor or administrative assistant responsible for making decisions using financial reports. This course will explain accounting information, why it is important, and how economic decision-makers can use it. Topics include income statements, owner’s equity, economic measurement, realty depreciation, inventory, and cost of goods sold. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC-1030. Textbook required.

OFC 342 Accounting for Managers: Part II

OFC 343 Accounting for Managers: Part III

The final part of this series, OFC 343, is for the manager/supervisor or administrative assistant responsible for making decisions using financial reports. Topics include the cash flow statement, generally accepted accounting principles, what audits do for the user of a financial statement, and how financial statement analysis reveals useful accounting information for the user. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC-1030. Prerequisite: OFC-342. Textbook required.

QuickBooks

OFC 326 Introduction to QuickBooks: Part I

This course will show students how to establish a chart of accounts, vendors, customers, inventory, and payroll records, enter typical transactions, and prepare standard financial statements using QuickBooks software. Students must take this course to proceed to OFC-344 or QuickBooks: Part 2. Prerequisites: OFC-361 or OFC-341 or accounting experience. Students must have a basic understanding of key accounting and bookkeeping terms. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC-1070. Textbook required.

OFC 344 QuickBooks: Part II

Students will establish a chart of accounts, vendors, customers, and inventory records, enter typical transactions, and prepare standard financial reports for merchandising firms using QuickBooks. An accounting background is helpful but not required. Students must take QuickBooks: Part 2 to register for QuickBooks: Part 3. Prerequisite: OFC-326. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC1090. Textbook required.

 OFC 345 QuickBooks: Part III

Students will begin budgeting, job costing, and nonprofit accounting using QuickBooks software. An accounting background is helpful but not required using the QuickBooks application. To register for this class, students must take QuickBooks: Part I and Part II. Prerequisite: OFC-344. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC-1100. Textbook required.

Payroll Accounting

OFC 328 Payroll Accounting

This course covers payroll preparation, payroll rules, record keeping, and payroll tax reporting. Meets concurrently with credit course ACC-1050. Textbook required.

eLearning Methods at PGCC

Online

Learning on your own time

Students taking an online class can access course content 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and have discussions with their instructors and fellow learners using Canvas. Deadlines and due dates will be set for assignments, test, projects, and the like.

Remote

Learning in real time

Students that take a remote class will meet online via the Canvas platform at scheduled times with set deadlines and due dates. Students will access learning materials, assignments, and participate in discussions via Canvas.

How to Register

Registering online via Owl Link is the fastest and gives you the best chance to get the classes you want. You’ll need an email address and a credit card to register online.

  • If you are a new student, click here to create a student account. Follow the prompts. You’ll receive two emails with your login name and password information. Use these to log in to Owl Link from www.pgcc.edu
