High School Diploma Option (GED)

Do you want to earn your High School Diploma?

Our Adult Education Program offers free GED® preparation and basic reading and math classes. The College bases enrollment on the results of placement tests and places learners in the appropriate classes for their level.

GED classes are for adults who are preparing to take the official GED® tests and must review their skills. Classes focus on reading, writing, math problem-solving, and test-taking skills. The program also offers social studies, science, and computer skills classes during the spring and summer semesters. Classes are held throughout Prince George's County in the mornings and evenings, with some programs available only on Fridays and Saturdays. Most classes meet for a total of 60 hours per semester.

Basic math and reading classes are also available for adults who need more practice in their reading, writing, and math skills before they attempt the official GED® tests.

Students at all levels purchase their textbooks. The College offers registration and placement testing at its main Largo campus. Please check the current registration schedule for details.
