Owl Scholars at PGCC is a summer youth camp supporting the retention of grade-level skills in preparation for the rigor of the upcoming school year. Youth@Work/SYEP Job Readiness Training

Prince George's Community College has partnered with the Prince George’s County Office of Human Resource Management and the Youth@Work/Summer Youth Enrichment Program to offer Job Readiness Training. This program aims to prepare youth and young adults aged 14 to 24 for entering the workforce.

Training includes a foundational course and industry-based courses that are customized and lead to a recognized credential. The foundational course is focused on ethics with a performance-based curriculum, creating an environment where students can practice key 21st-century soft skills. Back on Track

Back on Track comes to PGCC through the State’s Attorney Office of Prince George’s County. Through this partnership, those with first-time, non-violent felony offenses have access to credential-bearing workforce development courses.

Eligible participants who complete their academic plan will become eligible for an expungement of all charges. The College and Career Transitions Office provides advising, student support, and administrative coordination.

Next Step Training and Education Project (NSTEP)

Next Step Training and Education Project (NSTEP) is a partnership funded by the Department of Social Services. The program addresses academic interests, career development needs, and barrier removal for Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) recipients, their dependents, and young adults in foster care.

Participants earn marketable skills and degrees, leading to gainful employment and assistance through the open catalog of degree and credentialing programs at Prince George’s Community College. Click the link below to learn more about NSTEP.

SNAP Outreach

Through its College and Career Transitions Office, Prince George's Community College is a state-recognized SNAP Outreach resource. SNAP Outreach is a partnership with SeedCo, a non-profit organization that aims to provide federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to low-income individuals and families and help them buy nutritious food, including the fruits, vegetables, and grains required for a healthy lifestyle.

CCT's outreach efforts help eligible low-income individuals who are not currently SNAP recipients become aware of its benefits and receive assistance with the application process.

PGCC Cares

PGCC Cares responds to students' critical needs by providing supportive care and resources, such as the OWL Market, an on-site food pantry that provides free groceries. PGCC Cares also supports students through collaborating with internal and external referral services and addressing crises.
