In Case Of Imminent Or Actual Flooding

Only follow these actions if safe to do so.

  • Secure vital equipment, records, and hazardous materials by moving to higher, safer ground.
  • Shut off all non-essential electrical equipment.
  • Move all personnel to a safe area, away from the building in danger.
  • Locate those persons with access and functional needs, and provide assistance if safe to do so. Otherwise, provide their location to emergency responders.
  • Do not return to the building until instructed to do so by the authorities.
  • Contact Facilities Planning & Management for assistance with flood clean-up. 
  • Notify the Department of Public Safety of the incident by dialing 301-546-0666.
