The Bridge to Baccalaureate (B2B) Program is funded and supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The long-term goal is to prepare a diverse cohort of research-oriented students to transfer from Prince George's Community College to Morgan State University (MSU) and complete a baccalaureate degree in STEM disciplines.

Program Details

Overview of the SRC

The MSU Student Research Center (SRC) is a registered MSU undergraduate student organization run by students with the support of the SRC Coordinator and the faculty advisor, Dr. Lisa D. Brown. It was created as a part of the MSU ASCEND Program, an NIH-funded Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD) grant award. The Center encourages networking and research-related enrichment for the students by engaging them in a vibrant research environment, surrounded by and exchanging research ideas with peers and non-peer mentors. The environment fosters the development of novel ideas and creates peer support for conducting research.

Benefits of Membership

  • Gain valuable leadership skills.
  • Receive mentoring from a peer researcher.
  • Create and develop a research idea that is competitive for funding.

The PGCC SRC is a club modeled after the MSU SRC. The club was created to provide PGCC students with a platform to share, develop, and strengthen their research skills and ideas under the guidance of PGCC faculty, who will serve as research mentors. The club is coordinated by the faculty advisor, Dr. Lorraine Clarke, and the MSU/PGCC B2B program coordinator, Dr. Yuda Anriany.

For questions regarding the club and to apply for membership, please contact Dr. Lorraine Clarke at clarkelw@pgcc.edu.
