The Economics Summer Academy at PGCC is a free economics summer program for high school students.

Explore career options and build data analysis, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Economics Summer Academy at PGCC focuses on creating interest in economics. 

Attendees will learn and hear from:
  • Economics professors.
  • Economics from government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
  • Graduate and undergraduate students majoring in economics.
  • College recruitment personnel.
  • Experts from related industries.

Sessions will be held in person at the Charlene M. Dukes Student Center (Largo campus), and lunch will be provided.

Washington, D.C. Field Trip

Take a field trip to Washington, D.C., and learn more about your career options in economics from government and nonprofit experts.

Eligibility

Enrollment is open to rising students in grades 8-12.

Registration Steps

New PGCC Students

  1. Create an account by clicking here.
  2. You will receive your confirmation email with your user ID and temporary password with a link to complete an application. (The process is delayed, so please allow up to 24 hours. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.)
  3. Once you receive your email to complete the application, select the “Workforce Development & Cont. Ed. Students” option and follow the instructions in the email.
  4. Find the field and course code number and type in the course number. The course number is YTH-586 with Syn #09586. Be sure to add a dash between the letters and numbers.
  5. Or, to pull all the courses at once, type "YTH" and hit enter. Then, choose the section you want and click Submit.

If you have previously enrolled in a course at Prince George’s Community College, you will be required to log in to Owl Link before you can register.
